About TireMaster

TireMaster joined ASA Tire Systems’ product line in January 2005, when ASA purchased Quality Design Systems (QDS). With the acquisition of QDS and its TireMaster software, ASA gained a foothold in the IT market for small tire dealers.

In the years leading up to the acquisition, QDS was both an entrepreneurship and a subsidiary of a publicly-held company. In 1987, a pair of software developers founded QDS in Eagle, Idaho. Initially, QDS designed custom applications for a variety of businesses. However, the company’s focus changed in 1990.

At that time, QDS designed a point-of-sale and accounting program for a local tire dealer. The program was so well received, it was named TireMaster and put on the national market. Upgrades were made to the original DOS-based product until 1995. A year later, QDS released the first Windows-based version of TireMaster. Since then, numerous changes have been made to TireMaster for Windows—many of those changes are the results of customer requests.

After 13 years as an entrepreneurship, QDS became a subsidiary of a publicly-held company. Bandag, a global leader in commercial tire retreading, bought QDS in 2000. Once the sale was final, QDS relocated to Meridian, Idaho. The relationship between QDS and Bandag continued until the end of 2004. In January 2005, Bandag sold QDS to ASA.

Since the acquisition, a team of dedicated software professionals have worked diligently to ensure that TireMaster continues to meet the needs of it users. The headquarters for the TireMaster development and support team remain in Meridian, Idaho.
